The Soldiers of the 246 Army National Guard Band have proudly served their State and Nation since their inception in 1939 as a part of the 178th Field Artillery. Their historic and distinguished lineage dates back to performances in numerous campaigns since and including World War II. The 246th has been by name requested to perform at such distinguished venues as Senator Strom Thurmond’s funeral, South Carolina Gubernatorial Inaugurations, The Peace Center, US Central Command, and the USS Yorktown Aircraft Carrier. The 246th has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Hawaii, Guam, Maryland, Mississippi, Georgia and Key West in recent years for concerts. In addition to these venues, the 246th has a regular concert schedule around the great state of South Carolina to include military ceremonial performances, patriotic holidays and community events.


Battery Brass Band

The Battery Brass Band is led by SSG Meghann Burnett. Carrying on the sounds and traditions of New Orleans and Bourbon Street, performing tunes from the Youngblood Brass Band, Trombone Short and the Rebirth Brass Band. Come with your parasol and follow the second line all over South Carolina. 

Palmetto Jazz Orchestra

The Palmetto Jazz Orchestra is led by percussionist, SFC Christopher Church. The band is the Official Touring Band of the South Carolina National Guard. From the big band sounds of the 1920s to the contemporary hits of today, the members present a versatile program that appeals to all ages.

Moment's Notice is the solid rock of the unit. The energy of the members or the crowd cannot be contained as they perform all genres from the top 40 charts. Led by SSG Tim Parker, they have performed at Darlington Raceway, the TD Center in Greenville, SC, the Reedy River Concert Series, and more. Rock on!
