Collecting Stones

We’ll ride the roads collecting stones to throw away once we’re bones

and western skies open so wide among the birch and lofty pines

Let’s look for stars never seen before

I want to explore. I want to explore.

Now open sky after the ride through packs of wolves, a great divide

Dust storms rage miles away

Stars watch me fall asleep and let me dream of better days

Let’s look for stars never seen before

I want to explore. I want to explore.

The Tunnel

There ain’t no ride away from here

And I’ve been walking on and on

Now it’s dark and I’m all alone

And I’m looking for a way to get back home

The end’s in sight and becoming clear

I finally want to see the light cause this room

Isn’t as bright as the world outside

So here I go, I’m getting out of the tunnel

And i won’t quit playing the man that’s got it all

Cause there’s a girl with a big heart that cares for me at home

And I’ve met great friends along the way and caused a bit of trouble

And now i’ve gone and fucked it up and I can’t escape the tunnel

So here I go, I’m getting out of the tunnel so i can go home

Learn To Lead

I never learned to two-step. I can barely do the waltz.

I’m up on stage and she’s the only one I see

She looks so graceful while she’s spinning around

I know someday she'll dance with me.

But i’m just another poor boy looking for someone to lead around so clumsily

And now i need a little help fixing up myself cause she deserves a better partner than me

And I never learned to lead

But you make me go Whoa oh oh ohhh

I understand harmony, when two merge into one

And don’t forget the rhythm that’s in my bones

So give me that hand cause I’m a changed man

And I think I got what it takes lead. I think i got what it takes in me.

Cause you make me go Whoa oh oh ohhh

I’ll meet you on the dance floor, my arms around your waist

Rest your head on my shoulder and I’ll lead you round this place

So won’t you leave your heart open

While I twirl you around this space

Cause you make me go whoa oh oh ohhh

Wasted

Justin Jon, The Tunnel, Wasted

Spent too much time spinning my mind, dreaming of the open skies

Go see the world leave for a while, search many miles, you’ve still got a ways to go

I’m wasted and alone and i’m lookin’ for another place to go

Alone down the highway while I’m busy wasting days that I know I could have spent with you, but i’m a runaway. So make me believe this ain’t for nothin’ at all.

Give me the low, give me the harder road; one worn by men, feeling wasted and looking for adventure.

Ride through the night. Stars so bright they’ll shine on you like you’ve never seen before.

Stop at the bar, grab a lonesome drink, clear my head of all the mistakes. I don’t want to think.

Cause I’m wasted and alone and i’m lookin’ for another place to go

Alone down the highway while I’m busy wasting days that I know I could have spent with you, but i’m a runaway. So make me believe this ain’t for nothin’ at all.

Where Giants Roam

Now I’m just fucked up and I just need to write a song for you

Cause all the songs I love were wrong

Time doesn’t fix you being gone or ease the heavy stones I gotta hold

Time doesn’t change the pain that I feel

it doesn’t bring you back to real

I guess I’m not as cold as I was when I was young

So fuck what time it is

it doesn’t matter anymore

time doesn’t know the world we see

it goes causing misery

So go on your way believe there’s something more

But we walked where the giants roamed

Made the world our home

Lived our days like they’re the last days’ we’d ever know

Until we meet again, I’ll have to say my piece and let the days roll by

And I won’t have to watch my watch ticking down forgotten thoughts

Counting all the times you showed up drunk or just forgot

But we walked where the giants roamed

Made the world our home

Lived our days like they’re the last days’ we’d ever know

I'll Find My Way copy.png

I’ll Find My Way

I’ll find my way out there on the road ahead

Just try to hold on for the ride

Livin life like a refugee

move with the winds to the rising sea and get lost

Pick up the pieces on the rocky shore

after the ship crashed during the storm

I’ll find my way again

We’ll find our way again

How long you gonna roam

before you find your way back home?

Set the course we’ll take an early flight

fly on straight on to the morning light

And get lost

So how long we gonna roam before we find our way back home?

I’ll find my way again

We’ll find our way again

In The Distance copy.png

In the Distance

there’s nothing like the mountain side to make me disappear. the thrill of the storm rolling in from off in the distance makes me feel like i’m alive and i’ll be fine on the mountain side.

so pack your pack and hit the road. i want to get to the trailhead, the day is almost closed. we’re heading west down through the gorges deep below. the sun is fading fast and it’s getting cold. and i need not want and i yearn for nothin cause i got all i need on my back and I feel like i’m alive

it makes me feel like i’m alive and i’ll be fine on the mountain side.

The Gold That Lays Beyond the Hills

I need a place to call my home

Lately I got nowhere to go

Sit in the park, I'm all alone

Dreamt up a man who had it all

He kept on rolling and rolling

While the road kept goin’ on

Till the day he came strolling

Through the pass all alone

He was hopin’ and hopin’

That the clouds would clear so he could find

The gold that lays beyond the hills

He left to search and find his soul

Blinked once or twice and now he’s old

After a life collecting stones

Came back one day covered in gold

Cause he kept on rolling….

Could Have Been

I don’t believe it’s all for nothing

It’s all for something you’ve never dreamed of searching for

Every word you say, Spoken by someone

Who never grew up with a dream worth fighting for

So please don’t call me talking that shit to bring me down.

I don’t need it from someone who’s never gonna leave this town

While you grow old wishing that you had a dream

And you’ll go on missing out on what you could have been

Just go hide, Lock yourself away

In a box of glass that breaks

In a life you can’t escape

I know my heart's not made of stone,

But it’s stronger than you’ll ever know

So while we’re at it, you got any other shit to say to me?

Any other thoughts of failing cause you’ll never break me down.

I’m slowly making the life that’s meant for me

And I see you trailing so far behind me now

I’m stronger than you know

Could Have Been.png
There Will Be A Heart

There Will Be A Heart

goin nowhere fast, I could spend my whole life runnin’

it’s all for nothing when you got a good girl at home with open arms

but there is still a heart missing from someone

unlock the door, wait for a little longer

while I wander back from the world a little lost

cause i got to go get a little stronger on a trip down to the coast

travel on, blue skies, spread wide open

take me down to the coast for the mourning

and they’re travelled hard, those eyes, where they going?

down the road taking ash to the ocean.

you’re coming home to open arms and there is still a heart missing from someone

and you need no one at all cause you’re better off alone, but there will be a heart missing from someone

Send Me a Card

Send Me a Card

You’ve seen so much of the world, islands and country sides

You’ve been around the globe on nothing but a dime

but I can’t wrap my head around the fact that a man could live like you

From far across the seas, you mail a card and it reads

“Sometimes I’m a little hard driven, but remember it’s because I’ve had a hard time livin’

but I love you.”

So send me a card saying all the things you never said

Write me a letter to calm all the broken dreams inside my head

Past your eyes a million lies and a heart is gonna hurt

The days passing by are long, eased by my favorite songs

They’re cosmic waves on air that never leave your side

Even though you are gone, I read your card and I swear

I promise to never forget you cause I know you’re gone

Down To The Water

Let’s wander to the water to wade around the bend

Free to scream and holler, I need to feel the cold on my growing skin

Down to the misty yonder where the groves make their home

The scenes painted in color and the spring it sings such wild tones

I need to feel the cold cause the cold makes all the darkness stay at home

So take me to the water cause I need to feel the cold

Please take me, take me to the water’s edge cause time runs out before you ever know

I need to feel the cold cause i miss the days when my heart was floatin’

I was only 6 and life was goin’ kinda slow at the bar. It’s where I was growin’

Let’s take off and go float the cold

Down at the water hole

Where the kids splash and they slowly grow

Cause time runs out before you ever know
